Little Club Bamboo

Located next door to Charlie’s Place, the Little Club Bamboo was run by Roddy Brown’s family and served as a companion venue to its more famous neighbor.

While smaller and more local in feel, Club Bamboo was part of the same vibrant ecosystem that made Carver Street a musical and cultural destination.

The club gave younger and lesser-known musicians a space to perform and was a stepping stone for community connection and nightlife.

For Roddy, growing up between these two clubs meant being immersed in a soundscape of jazz, soul, and rock ’n’ roll. The legacy of Club Bamboo adds texture to the neighborhood’s story, reminding us that great change often bubbles up from small rooms filled with big dreams.
